This applies whether the device is for your staff or customers and includes TVs, computers, tablets, or phones. You can get your licence quickly and easily from the official TV Licensing website.

What a business TV Licence covers

A single TV Licence costs £169.50 and covers all devices on a single business premises. It allows you, your staff, and your customers to:

• Watch or record live TV programmes on any channel or service.
• Watch or download any programmes on BBC iPlayer.

Important: This rule applies even if a staff member uses their own device (like a personal phone) to watch live TV, as long as it is plugged into your business's mains electricity while they are watching.

How to get your licence

Getting your licence is a simple process:

1. Go to the official TV Licensing website.
2. Choose the option to buy a new licence for a business.
3. Enter your business address and payment details. You can pay the full fee at once or spread the cost with a Direct Debit.

What if I don't need one?

If you are certain that no device on your premises will be used for watching live TV or BBC iPlayer, you don't need a licence. You can let TV Licensing know this by completing a 'no licence needed' declaration on their website, which should stop them sending you reminder letters.
